 Bobbie
Proskine, the author, was born in Warwick, RI and currently
lives in Helotes, TX, a suburb of San Antonio. Raised
as a military daughter, she learned fast from her dad
that the only way to accomplish anything in life is to
work hard.
Bobbie has a background in writing, creating newsletters,
and holds a publicity chair position with the PTA for
the local elementary school. She first became interested
in writing children’s books, when her daughter was
little and they lived in London, England. They would frequent
the quaint children’s bookstores on the high streets
and were fortunate enough to meet some local authors along
the way. Those memories with her daughter, she will never
forget. Bobbie aspires to be a better writer as her son’s
adventurous side gives her many opportunities for ideas
for future children’s books.
In her new children's book series, inspired by her daughter's
funny adventures with her childhood and lifelong companion,
her favorite stuffed animal, Bobbie hopes to inspire the
imaginations of children through their relationships with
their own stuffed animals, while educating children about
countries they might or might not get to visit. She also
makes it a point to include some encouraging lessons in
how to rise above disappointment and the value of acceptance
of all people by focusing on the positive aspects of being
unique and different. |
